AG "Statistical Computing"

The working group "Statistical Computing" (formerly known as "Statistical Analysis Systems") of the German Association of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology GMDS was founded in 1974. In 2006 the working groups "Statistical Computing" of the GMDS and " Computational Statistics" of the German Region of the International Biometric Society (IBS-DR) were merged into the joint working group "Statistical Computing" of the GMDS and IBS-DR. The working group aims in applications and in the investigation of methods and tools of informatics in statistics, especially in bio-sciences like medicine or biology.

Ziele der AG "Statistical Computing"

Die Arbeitsgruppe befaßt sich mit dem Einsatz und der Untersuchung von Methoden und Werkzeugen der Informatik für die Statistik. Besondere Berücksichtigung findet die Anwendung in den Biowissenschaften bzw. in der Medizin. Im Rahmen der jährlich stattfindenden Arbeitstagung "Statistical Computing" werden ausgewählte Themen des Fachgebiets Computational Statistics in Form von Vorträgen, Workshops und Softwaredemonstrationen behandelt und eingehend diskutiert.
